Conflicts in The Glass Castle

What are the major conflicts that Jeanette experiences as an adult and as a child? Think internal and external conflicts (man vs. self, man vs. man, man vs. society, man vs. nature)

  3. The major conflicts that jeanette expeeriences as an adult and as a child are, when she is a child when she was cooking hotdogs when she desided to give one to her pet but her pink skirt catches on fire and gives her 3rd degree burns, from there she has a fasination with fire. that is considered man vs nature.
For man vs man is when shes her mother and she has to talk to her at lunch that she takes her out to lunch at lunch her mother says to tell the truth and not to be embarrassed about her family, which goes to man vs self she is having a hard time accepting what is and she is lying to her self and to others about her mother enjoying being where she is at.
That ends up to man vs society which she would not be telling the truth about her mother to others because she thinks that they are going to like mess with her and tease her about her mother is poor and homeless.

  5. The major conflicts Jeanette experiences as an adult are, mostly her parents because, they are living on the street while she is rich and living a clean life. She's also deals with the fear of being judged, because of how her parents live and how they look. The major conflicts Jeanette experiences as a child was, when she cooked with hot dogs and got burned (unsupervised)and she went to the hospital (because of the burns). Fire was a big part of her childhood conflict experiences.

  6. Jeanette as a an adult was much more different as a child . As a child she went through a lot . At age 3 1/2 she was cooking and got a 3rd degree burn. Parents weren't really supportive but they all had a ''connection''. However, as a adult she starting to be more independent and she even got rich.

    man vs.self - judjement

    man vs.nature- fire

    self vs self- difficult.

  7. Jeanette's conflicts always seem to revolve around her parents and her family history. she was caught on fire after cooking hotdgs and then after she came back from the hospital she cooked them the exact same way. (she was only three). she had a man vs self experience when she held the match to Tinkerbell's face, she did this to see what she could have experienced when she was on fire. she had a man vs man experience when she was trying to talk to her at the resturant, she had to talk with her mom because she felt that her mom wasnt living the right way to live. Jeanette had a man vs society experience when she was taken from the hospital and when her father didnt want to pay the bill
