Every story presents a conflict. Without conflict a story does not exist. What is the major conflicts presented in your book? How do the conflict affect the main characters?
In The Girl on the Train, Rachel and Megan both deal with internal conflicts. Rachel deals with her depression and alcoholism. Rachel and her now ex-husband could not have a baby. Her infertility destroys the ideal life that she had created for herself. She turns to alcohol to suppress her pain, and begins to self destruct. At the present time Rachel has ruined her marriage and her career. Similarly, Megan battles with depression. Megan’s depression seems to stem from her brother’s death. Days after her brother’s funeral, Megan runs away and turns to prostitution and later lives with an older man. Her life seems to turn around when she marries Scott, someone “normal”. Unfortunately, marriage is not enough to make her happy and she seeks attention from other men, including her therapist.
The conflict in my book which is called A Fallen Angel the conflict is this guy joined the army in the begining of the vietnam war and he was not suppost to see any combat because of his bad knee that he messed up in a game of basketball with his friend so when he gets to a base in the country hes assigned a squad but hes confused because of his medical papers but they dont come in right so he ends up seeing combat with a bad knee that can give out at any time.
In the book Ask Again Later, the main character Heart get’s asked to prom by two characters, Troy and Ryan. Troy, recently got dumped by his girlfriend and is devastated, so he asks Heart if she can go with him. Ryan, recently opened up to Heart and told her that he was gay and that he doesn't want her to feel that he like, likes her. When Heart resolutes to her friends they try everything they can to help her decide who to go with but fail. Heart is still desperately trying to make a decision on who to go with to prom.
Twenty Boy Summer , Anna and Frank go into ''depression'' because Matt died. However, they dealt with his death. 1 year later, Anna and Frank go to a vacation, Frankie had joined a contest in which where that she had to sleep with Twenty Boys. She had lost her virginity to twenty guys. Although, Anna is really worried because she doesn't know how to tell there parents,and there heading back home.
In Willow, Willow is grieving the loss of her parents and dealing with the guilt of it. She begins to deal with her pain by secretly cutting herself. Her David brother doesn't talk to her because she thinks he hates her for killing their parents. She hates her school because everyone talks about her and judges her. She trying to stay away from Guy because she doesn't want to feel anything towards him.
Her parents had a little to much to drink at dinner so they asked Willow to drive them home but it was raining so she lose control of the car and crashed and killed her parents.
In my book the main character “Cap” was recently elected eighth grade president but he didnt sign up for the eighth grade president and he didnt know anyone from his school and he didnt know that he secretly became part of it.
